Dear Mr. Alex Azar,

I felt compelled to inform you about the existing problem of inadequate nursing staffing. I appreciate the fact that a lot of work has been done to improve health care delivery. However, inadequate staffing is increasingly becoming a major personal and professional concern for nurses. It is disappointing that inadequate staffing is a top reason why some nurses leave their hospital jobs.

To some extent, inadequate staffing is threatening patient health and safety, cases of injury, and increased complexity of care. There have been many cases arising whereby nurses are often being overworked. Therefore, I believe that the best way of improving sustainable quality of care is by improving the nurse-to-patient staffing ratios.

I expect to get positive feedback from you. This is an issue that needs to be checked urgently. Therefore, I hope that by 1/1/2020 you will have set effective measures that will in aid in increasing the number of nursing staff. There is a great urgency to increase nursing staff and I believe you will do the best to ensure that embarrassing condition is solved.
