Psychology and human relations
For this discussion, you will choose 2 important concepts you learned in Chapter 7, and consider how they help you better understand some aspect of prejudice, discrimination, or social injustice you see in the world around you. Here are specific instructions:
In your first paragraph, thorough summary of the first concept you’ve chosen to share. The way you might explain it to a group of college students who haven’t taken this class. If there is terminology specific to the topic, be sure to clarify its meaning as well. To do justice to the topic, your paragraph and many paragraphs are longer than that (which is fine). Your goal is to teach this topic to others who may not know about it, so be sure to include all the important elements of it, and explain it so they can grasp it fully.
In your second paragraph, explain why that concept is meaningful to you by applying it to your own life or your observations of the world around you. (ProTip: The best way to do that is often with specific, concrete examples from your own life or personal observations – in other words, by telling a story that illustrates the importance of the concept.) Be sure to include what you will do with this information that will help improve your life or the world around you in a meaningful way. This paragraph must also be a minimum of 150 words (and is often longer).
Then, in your 3rd and 4th paragraphs, repeat the summary-application format (above) for your second topic, first writing a summary paragraph of the topic, then an application paragraph for it.
Overall, your post must be at least 4 paragraphs of 150 words or more. For maximum points, you should exceed the minimum 🙂 You may also write a concluding paragraph if you wish — it’s always ok to write more 🙂
