War with France gave Bismarck an opportunity to unite the Prussian-led North German Union and the South German nations and create an influential German Empire (Hunt et al., 2019). In order to enable the unification of the majority of German states, Prussia believed that a war with France was necessary to incite German nationalism in those States. Prussia had consolidated its dominance in central Europe by 1871, both militarily and economically. The upshot was the unification of the German states as a result of this and the waning power of Austria.
When Spain gave Prince Leopold the empty throne, Bismarck had his justification for war. After weakening Austria, Bismarck focused on the French, the other major impediment to the union. France had been alarmed as she observed Prussia’s rise to prominence. Prior to the start of the war, Bismarck attempted to weaken France as much as he could. Russia was France’s official ally, but Bismarck utilized diplomacy to ensure that Russia kept out of the impending war (Hunt et al., 2019). Moreover, Bismarck ensured that Italy remained neutral and refrained from supporting France. Since the British did not want France to gain any more influence than it already had, Bismarck bet they would stay out of the war.
As a result of Bismark’s manipulation of the Ems Dispatch, also known as the Ems Telegram, the Second French Empire began the Franco-Prussian War and declared war on the Kingdom of Prussia (Hunt et al., 2019). France declared war after the message sparked an uptick in war demands in Berlin and Paris. The episode gave France and Prussia the pretext for a test of strength, but France was the first to declare war due to Bismarck’s dishonest editing of the Ems telegram.
The Franco-Prussian led to Germany’s unification and French power’s end in continental Europe (Hunt et al., 2019). The outcome of the Franco-Prussian War had a significant geopolitical impact. With Berlin taking over for Paris as the center of world politics, it immediately contributed to establishing the German Empire, which became the most powerful state in Continental Europe.
The Paris Commune encompassed a fundamental, populist government which reigned in Paris. It took place after France lost in the Franco-German War and the tumble of Napoleon III’s Second Kingdom. The divide in French society was revealed during the bloody week when the French national Army defeated the Commune. Communards were swiftly executed or killed in battle by the national armies. The Commune executed several hostages, primarily gendarmes and priests, during its closing days, including Georges Darboy, the Archbishop of Paris.

Otto Von Bismarck was an architect from Germany and was born in 1815 and died in 1898. He wanted Prussia to become established as the most dominant German power and he did not like the role the Habsburg Dynasty played in terms of Power. Bismarck was appointed prime minister by King William I. He did what he was et in place to do and overcame the liberal parliament. This led to Prussia into a war against France in 1870. The war was ultimately declared because of insults that were sent made to look like the king of Prussia had sent them. Instead, it was Bismarck trying to push France into wanting a war. I can imagine it must have been a tremendous accomplishment to have captured Napoleon. It did not take long after that for the French Empire to fall. Prussia gained the areas of Alsace and Lorraine. These provinces were rich areas that had industrial benefits which made them attractive for the Germans to take. The King of Prussia was also considered the Kaiser of the new Reich. In my opinion, Prussia got a pretty favorable deal but they did defeat one of the major powers. The Paris Commune began in 1871 and it was a time where rebels fought against the French Army. The video made it clear that many of the fighters were just regular people. I know it was a rebellion against the government but it was sad to see tens of thousands of citizens were shot in the streets. It is quite different but that kind of government force reminds me of the reign of terror. It seems like the French government was going through a hard time with Napoleon being captured and the Empire falling to their own people rebelling against them. They experienced failure after failure in such a short period of time.

1) Why did Bismarck want to start a war between Prussia and France? Bismarck, for his part, saw war with France as an opportunity to bring the South German states into unity with the Prussian-led North German Confederation and build a strong German Empire. (2) Why did Bismarck want to start a war between Prussia and France? The immediate cause of the Franco-Prussian War was the candidacy of Prince Leopold of Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen for the Spanish throne, which raised the possibility of a combination of Prussia and Spain against France. Lasting from 19 July 1870 to 28 January 1871, the conflict was caused primarily by France’s determination to reassert its dominant position in continental Europe, which appeared in question following the decisive Prussian victory over Austria in 1866. (2) Why, according to Bismarck, was it necessary that the French declare war on Prussia? The immediate cause of the Franco-Prussian War was the candidacy of Prince Leopold of Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen for the Spanish throne, which raised the possibility of a combination of Prussia and Spain against France (3) How do the two Prussian generals respond to Bismarck’s manipulation, and why? Following diplomatic maneuvers to block Leopold’s candidacy, the Prussian chancellor Otto von Bismarck published the Ems Telegram to provoke the French government into declaring war, which it did. (4) What benefits did victory in the Franco-Prussian War (1870-71) have for Bismarck’s Prussia? Geo-politically the outcome of the Franco-Prussian War was massive. It led directly to the creation of the German Empire, Continental Europe’s most powerful state with Berlin replacing Paris as the focal point of global politics (5) What was the Paris Commune, and how did its existence reveal the deep divisions in French society? How did the Paris Commune and the Dreyfus affair heighten divisions in France. The suppression of the Paris Commune left bitter memories that deepened social divisions within France. Describe 2 reforms enacted in France in the early 1900s. France passed laws: regulating wages, hours and safety conditions for workers

Introduction
As we discussed often in class, vision boards can be very helpful to have, because it forces you to think about what you want out of life and puts it in a visual form. For instance, I often see pictures of people who are super successful and I feel like, “Wow, I want to be like that someday” and then I feel inspired to do my best in order to one day reach my dreams. Also, writing down your goals and the steps it takes for you to reach that goal is extremely helpful because it gives you a map of how to get there. A timeline is not only a visual representation of your goals but it also allows you to see how much time you are willing to put into achieving these things.

The key point here is this: vision boards aren’t meant for everyone (and if they’re not working for someone else then why would they work for me?). It’s ok if yours isn’t perfect! Just keep working on making yours better every day until one day when everything clicks together perfectly – just like how ours did!
Vision boards can be useful if they are used as a tool for goal setting and achievement
Vision boards are a way to help you achieve your goals. They can be made with images, words and symbols, but the idea is to create a visual representation of what you want in life.
Vision boards are generally used as tools for goal setting and achievement. You can use them to help you visualize your future success by thinking about what it will look like when you have achieved all of your goals.
If you have ever set out on an ambitious project before then vision boards can be useful because they allow us all access into our minds’ eye where there is much room for creativity!
