USEFUL NOTES FOR:

First Mini Research Paper Topic and Annotated Bibliography

Introduction

Welcome to the first day of your research paper! I’m Paola Clark, and I’ll be guiding you through this process. First, let’s talk about what a research paper is:

Paola Clark

Introduction: Paola Clark is a professor at Columbia University. She studies visual perception, and her research has focused on how the brain processes information. In particular, she has studied how people perceive color. She is also interested in how people use their brains to make sense of images and patterns.

Background: Paola Clark received her undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College in 1982 and went on to earn her PhD from Stanford University in 1988 (Drinkwater). As part of that dissertation project, she studied color vision with an eye towards understanding how we perceive it (Clark). Since then she has continued working across many fields including neuroscience and psychology; however this paper focuses on one specific aspect – perception through retinal cells (Bolduc).

Conclusion

This was my first time writing a research paper and I learned a lot from this process. I found that it was easier than I thought it would be, but there are still some things that need to be improved on. The hardest part for me was finding good sources for each section of my paper because there weren’t many good resources online; however, when they were found they were useful because they provided good information on their topics as well as being informative themselves!
