In the case of a hospital offering a nutrition work-shop for seniors, the production costs for such an event could be quite high. However, advertising would likely bring in more customers than personal selling because it’s easier to reach a large audience with advertisements.

I think that both personal selling and advertising should be used to sell this service, but the two are not mutually exclusive. using personal selling would be a more effective way of getting people excited about an event or product instead of just advertising it online or in newspapers.
