Foreign Aid Position Paper – A Discussion

Your task is tochoose a side and build a case for your opinion or position using facts,opinion, statistics, and other forms of evidence, to convince all readers yourposition is THE BEST ONE, valid anddefensible.  Your paper must be supportedby research that will hold up when challenged. Research and evidence are essential. In many cases, the subject matter and your topic are not as important asyour ability to present a case that is both sound and logical.

Ideas that you areconsidering need to be carefully examined in choosing a topic, developing yourargument, and organizing your paper. It is very important to ensure that youare addressing all sides of the issue and presenting it in a manner that is easyfor your audience to understand. Your job is to take one side of the argumentand persuade your audience that you have well-founded knowledge of the topicbeing presented. It is important to support your argument with evidence toensure the validity of your claims, as well as to refute the counterclaims toshow that you are well informed about both sides.

Introduction

Your introductionhas a dual purpose: to indicate both the topic and your approach to it (yourthesis statement), and to arouse your readers interest in what you have tosay.
