Tort law is designed to compensate one whosuffers a loss or injury due to another persons wrongful act. A civil actionarises under the law of torts, meaning a civil wrong. In tort litigation, aperson or group sues another person or group to receive compensation for theirloss or injuries, called damages.

1. Pursuant to the chapter reading, identify and explain all the types of torts, both intentional and negligence, and provide an example of each from the chapter.
2. To successfully win a negligence lawsuit, what are the elements the plaintiff must prove and what three affirmative defenses are available to the defendant given in the book?
3. Dan, a driver for your accounting firm is making deliveries on company time.  He stops off for a beer at lunch, drives drunk and causes an accident.  Is your firm liable for the damages and injuries that occur?  Why or why not and what factors are an important part of the consideration for liability?   How is scope of employment an issue?   Be sure to explain Agency Law and your understanding of this area of law when answering this question
