The author continues point out that he assisted Susan to orient herself so she could feel her own emotions instead of focusing on the distress of others.

Daniel Rechtschaffen states, ” Information is imperative in education, bu transformation is where maturity, morality, and wisdom come from.” 

3. Applying what we learn can be a difficult, but if we set out to change the world, we are doing ourselves a great dis-service if we do not, first, change ourselves. Have you ever sought to solve a problem outside of yourself so vigorously, only to learn that you didn’t feel any better once it had been solved? Take a moment and reflect on a time in your life where your focus was on fixing or changing someone or something else. Did you lose or gain energy during this time? Was it difficult or easy to pay attention to your own internal experience at this time? Why or why not?
