determine your speech topic, you should also consider how to adapt the topic to the needs and interests o

actually composing your speech.

During step 2: investigate, you begin looking for sources for your speech. Although many resources are ea

sily available, not all of them will help you prepare a good speech. After all, Googling your topic is likely to r

esult in thousands of hits. Taking the time to plan a proper search can help you develop a factual speech.O

nce you have determined your research strategy, the next part of step 2: investigate is to conduct your res

earch. This includes gathering relevant data from a combination of print resources, websites, electronic da

tabases, and conversations with people.

Step 3: creating an outline. Choose any topic that interests you and elaborate. Conduct research and use r

sources as well as cite the sources being used. There is no word or page limit. Five source minimum: You
