1. In what ways does the media influence public opinion? Identify and describe the tactics, strategies, variables utilized? Identify a current topic a media platform currently presents and its interests in the topic.

2. Civil Rights have been an issue on North American territory since the arrival of the Western Europeans. The Bill of Rights seems to have had only had certain groups in mind when penned. Other groups have had to deal with the impacts of colonialization and now, internal colonialization. Identify the components of the Civil Rights Act (1964) and any constitutional amendments diverse groups in the U.S. can utilize to support the need for more equitable treatment in areas of interest you identify.

3. Define and discuss civil liberties from the perspective of a newly arriving immigrant to the U.S. Which liberties may they feel they don’t have? How might you advocate for their rights as a new arrival with legal status.
